LIPOSUCTION

Liposuction at NURIM Dermatech is a personalized body contouring procedure designed for targeted fat removal and improved body contours.

“Art of Precision
Body Sculpting - for more refined contours & beautifully balanced.”

Liposuction offers a refined approach to localised fat deposits – allowing carefully selected areas to be sculpted with precision while preserving the natural character of the body. The distribution of fat, skin elasticity, muscle definition and natural proportions are unique to everyone. Nurim approach therefore begins with understanding the body as a whole – not treating an isolated area in isolation. The results is a more defined silhouette with smoother transitions and enhanced contour – without compromising the individuality of your natural shape. At nurim, liposuction is approached not simply as fat reduction, but as an exercise in proportion, symmetry and refined body architecture.

AREAS COMMONLY TREATED BY LIPOSUCTION:

Abdomen
Waist & flanks
Hips
Thighs
Arms
Back
Submental area
Other localised areas, following individual assessment

TREATMENT PROCEDURE OF LIPOSUCTION:

Liposuction is a surgical body-contouring procedure that removes excess subcutaneous adipose tissue from carefully selected anatomical areas. At nurim, treatment planning is individualised according to the patient’s anatomy, adipose distribution, skin quality, tissue characteristics and desired degree of contour refinement.  Every procedure done by nurim follows a structured clinical approach, with an emphasis on safety, precision, proportion and natural-looking contours.

Following are the steps for the liposuction treatment –

Step 1: Pre-operative Clinical Consultation & Body Assessment –

The procedure begins with a comprehensive medical and aesthetic evaluation. Your expert clinician reviews your overall medical history, previous surgeries, medications, allergies and relevant risk factors.

Your body is also examined to understand:

Where excess fat is concentrated
How firm or loose your skin is
Your natural body proportions
Existing differences between the two sides of the body
Which areas are suitable for liposuction
What level of improvement can realistically be achieved

This assessment helps determine whether liposuction is appropriate for you and allows us to create a personalised treatment plan.

Step 2: Personalised Contour Planning -

Before the procedure, the treatment areas are carefully mapped according to your anatomy. Rather than following a standard pattern, the plan is designed around your individual proportions, identifying areas where fat can be reduced while preserving natural contours and creating smoother transitions.

Step 3: Preparation & Anaesthesia –

On the day of treatment, the selected areas are prepared under appropriate sterile conditions. Depending on the extent and location of treatment, local, regional or general anaesthesia may be used as clinically appropriate.

Step 4: Controlled Fat Removal –

Through small, strategically placed across points, a fine cannula is introduced into the targeted fatty layer. The cannula is moved with controlled precision to selectively remove excess aft while respecting the surrounding tissues.

Step 5: Three-Dimensional Contouring –

The procedure goes beyond simple fat removal. Attention is given to symmetry, anatomical transitions and overall silhouette. The goal is to create a smoother and more proportionate contour rather than an excessively sculpted appearance.

Step 6: Completion & Post-Procedure Care –

Once the desired contour has been achieved, the access points are managed appropriately, and the treatment area is supported according to the clinical plan. Compression garments may be recommended to assist recovery and help support the newly refined contours.

Step 7: Recovery & Progressive Refinement –

Swelling and bruising are expected during the early healing period and gradually settle. Follow-up appointments allow our clinician to monitor healing and the progressive development of your contours.

BENEFITS OF LIPOSUCTION:

Liposuction is designed to address specific areas of stubborn, localised fat and refine the overall body silhouette. When performed in appropriately selected patients, it can create a more balanced and defined appearance while maintaining natural body proportions. The goal of liposuction is not transformation for its own sake, but precise aesthetic refinement. The benefits of liposuction are –

Targeted fat reduction – Removes stubborn, localised fat deposits resistant to diet and exercise.
Enhanced Body Contouring – Creates smoother, more defined and refined body contours.
Improved Waist Definition – Helps sculpt the abdomen, flanks and waistline for a more streamlined silhouette.
Better Body Proportion – Enhances harmony and balance between different areas of the body.
Natural-looking Results – Focuses on controlled fat removal while preserving natural contours.
Long-Lasting Fat Reduction – Permanently removes fat cells from the treated areas when performed appropriately.
Greater Body Definition – Can reveal and accentuate underlying natural contours.
Personalised Sculpting – Treatment is tailored to individual anatomy, fat distribution and aesthetic goals.
Multiple Treatment Areas – Suitable areas may include the abdomen, flanks, hips, thighs, arms, back and chin.

ADVERSE EFFECTS OF LIPOSUCTION:

Liposuction is a surgical procedure and, like any surgery, may involve temporary side effects as well as uncommon complications. Most early effects gradually improve during recovery, while your individual risk depends on the treatment area, technique, extent of fat removal and overall health.

Temporary swelling – gradually reduces during recovery
Mild to moderate bruising may occur around the treated areas
Temporary soreness, sensitivity or tightness may be experienced
Temporary changes in sensation or tingling can occur
Uneven contours, waviness or asymmetry may occasionally develop
Fluid may collect beneath the skin and occasionally require drainage
Infection – uncommon but possible surgical complication requiring prompt treatment
Temporary changes in skin color, firmness or texture may occur
Small scars may remain at the cannula entry sites
Residual swelling may persist for several weeks or longer
Rare: Blood clots
Serious complications: Deep-vein thrombosis or Pulmonary embolism may occur
Risks vary depending on the type of anaesthesia used

CONTRAINDICATIONS OF LIPOSUCTION:

Liposuction is not suitable for everyone. A thorough medical assessment is essential to determine whether the procedure can be performed safely and whether the expected outcome is appropriate.

Pregnancy or breastfeeding
Uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure
Serious heart, liver or kidney conditions
Blood-clotting or bleeding disorders
Active infection or inflammation
Poor wound-healing conditions
Severe skin laxity
Significant obesity
Certain medications that increase bleeding risk
Unrealistic expectations about the procedure
Inability to follow post-treatment care instructions
Any medical condition that makes surgery or anaesthesia unsafe
